Megjegyzések:The aviation sector is a major contributor to global carbon emissions, with increasing demands for air travel intensifying environmental concerns. Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAFs) have emerged as a promising alternative to mitigate the carbon footprint of air travel while supporting the industry`s sustainability goals. However, the adoption of SAFs is influenced by multiple factors, including environmental impact, economic feasibility, technical feasibility, and social acceptability. A systematic evaluation of these factors is essential to identify the most suitable SAF options for widespread implementation. This study aims to assess and prioritize sustainable aviation fuel alternatives using a structured multi-criteria decision-making framework. The evaluation focuses on identifying the SAFs that provide the most significant environmental benefits while ensuring economic and technical viability and gaining social acceptance. The study employs the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to prioritize four primary criteria - environmental impact, economic feasibility, technical feasibility, and social acceptability - and evaluate SAF alternatives. Data were collected from a diverse group of aviation experts, including pilots, air traffic controllers (ATCOs), engineers, managers, and researchers. Pairwise comparison matrices were constructed to capture expert opinions, and responses were aggregated based on job categories and experience levels for a comprehensive analysis. The results indicate that environmental impact is the most critical criterion, with carbon emissions being a key determinant. Among the evaluated SAF alternatives, Synthetic Paraffinic Kerosene (SPK) achieved the highest ranking due to its superior compatibility with existing aviation infrastructure and its significant environmental benefits. Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil (HVO) followed closely, praised for its operational feasibility within current airport systems. In contrast, Gas to Liquids (GTL) ranked lower, primarily due to concerns regarding its economic viability and the energy intensity of its production process. The study highlights the need to prioritize SAF alternatives that balance environmental performance with technical and economic feasibility. SPK and HVO stand out as the most viable options for reducing aviation-related carbon emissions and advancing sustainability goals. These findings provide valuable insights for policymakers and industry stakeholders, emphasizing the importance of investment in SAF infrastructure and supportive regulatory frameworks to drive adoption. Promoting SAFs will play a key role in reducing the aviation sector`s environmental impact and supporting sustainable tourism practices globally.

Megjegyzések:The study aims to analyze the impact of workplace and non-workplace well-being factors, along with demographic characteristics, on Hungarian employees' travel habits and preferences. This research investigates the interplay between wellbeing factors and travel preferences, emphasizing the potential implications for employee satisfaction and organizational strategies. A quantitative approach was employed, utilizing a structured online questionnaire distributed to randomly selected Hungarian employees from diverse industries. The collected data were analyzed using statistical techniques, including correlation and regression analysis, to identify significant predictors and relationships. The findings underscore that workplace well-being factors, particularly work-life balance, exert a profound influence on travel preferences, suggesting that employees seek restorative travel experiences to counteract workplace demands. Furthermore, demographic factors such as age and gender emerged as critical determinants of travel behaviors. Younger employees prioritized relaxation and wellnessoriented trips, while older age groups leaned towards health-related travel. Gender differences also shaped preferences, with men and women displaying distinct patterns in travel motivations and destination choices. The study highlights the relevance of integrating travel-related considerations into workplace well-being programs. Employer-supported initiatives, such as flexible working arrangements, health benefits, and subsidized travel opportunities, can enhance employee satisfaction and productivity. These measures are not only vital for stress management and burnout prevention but also for fostering loyalty and engagement among employees. Additionally, the findings provide insights for the tourism industry, offering a deeper understanding of the factors influencing travel decisions. Tailored marketing strategies targeting specific employee demographics and preferences can capitalize on these insights, leading to more effective engagement with potential travelers. This research contributes to the broader discourse on the intersection of workplace well-being, quality of life, and travel behavior, emphasizing the multidimensional nature of employee satisfaction and its implications for both employers and the tourism sector.

Megjegyzések:In our current modern world, it can be said that it is very difficult to live a balanced and healthy life, and to always perform well in the world of work, so it is very important to pay attention to our leisure time and our primary prevention activities, which can help preserve our health and improve our fitness. The purpose of the research is to examine the appearance of leisure tourist trips among employees, and how tourist trips appear among the primary prevention tools. Our research found answers to the main questions of what activities employees try to regain their ability to work, and whether trips are popular as primary prevention activities. The recreational activities of the employees are primarily filled by various obligations, but at the same time, the use of primary prevention activities is pushed into the background during everyday life. During the research, we established that medical and wellness holidays are very popular among the respondents, as 22.5% of the sample (133 people) take part in medical tourism holidays and 50.3% of the respondents (297 people) take part in health care on a focused wellness holiday. The quiet, calm environment and the closeness to nature, which helps the employees to regenerate, appeared prominently in the motivation for the choice of destination. Among primary prevention tools, leisure activities spent with family, relationships, and friends, healthy eating, and walking and nature walks are the ones that appear dominantly in the everyday life of employees. In order to reduce the problem of burnout, pressure to perform, and stress among employees and to enable them to perform well in their tasks, it is very important to assess their needs and provide them with programs that contribute to improving their health and regaining their ability to work, such as appropriate recreation programs and various trips.

Megjegyzések:Event tourism represents one of the rapidly expanding segments within the realm of sports tourism globally. This research aims to investigate the emerging patterns in sports event participation and sports tourism among endurance athletes, with a specific emphasis on gender distinctions. Using a survey methodology, a dataset comprising 609 endurance athletes was analyzed to examine their sporting habits, behaviors, motivations, and attitudes. Special attention was given to preferences for sports events and tourism-related aspects. The findings indicate that female athletes tend to prioritise external motivational factors more than their male counterparts. In terms of sports event preferences, female respondents attributed significantly higher importance to factors such as race accessibility, affordability, and program offerings. Regarding travel behavior, female athletes exhibited greater inclinations towards traveling with family and supporters, as well as planning supplementary tourism activities around their race engagements. The study underscores the importance of recognizing gender-specific preferences and motivations in sports event participation and sports tourism among endurance athletes, highlighting the need for tailored strategies to enhance engagement and satisfaction among both male and female participants.

Megjegyzések:The examination of sports performance in relation to various macroeconomic variables has long occupied researchers in the field of sports economics. Similar interest surrounds esports, which has become one of the fastest developing types of "new media" in recent years. In esports, as well as in the video game industry besides creative content production, technology and digitization play a decisive role. In our research, we draw a parallel between digitization, the economy and sports performance in an area researched by relatively few. Based on the Digital Society and Economy Composite Index (DESI) published annually by the European Commission, we examine the digitization of the Member States of the European Union and whether a link can be found between esports performance and the digital development of each Member State. In the first part of the research cluster analysis was used in order to map the pattern of digital development across the EU, where four main direction was found, based on which four groups, namely "digital winners", "digital laggards", "technology-"and "user focused" states were identified. After which regression analysis was used in order to examine whether digital development has any effect on esports performance.

Cím:Demographic influences on environmental attitudes and actions: an analysis of the attitude-behavior gap / Anetta Müller, Zoltán Bács, Veronika Fenyves, Sándor Kovács, Attila Lengyel, Éva Bába Bácsné
Dátum:2025
ISSN:2065-0817 2065-1198
Megjegyzések:This study explores the relationship between environmental attitudes and actual behaviors among demographic groups in Central Europe, with a particular emphasis on the well-documented "attitude-behavior gap." Despite widespread concern for environmental sustainability, individuals often fail to act in accordance with their stated values. Drawing on a nationally representative Hungarian sample of 1,014 respondents, we examine how gender, education, and settlement type influence both the internal endorsement of environmental values and the external enactment of sustainable practices. Employing principal component analysis and comparative statistics, the study identifies distinct patterns in environmental attitudes and behaviors, revealing systematic variations across demographic profiles. Women, individuals with higher educational attainment, and urban residents consistently display stronger alignment between attitudes and actions, particularly in areas such as waste management, energy use, and conscious consumption. In contrast, rural populations and those with lower education levels exhibit larger gaps, often endorsing pro-environmental views without corresponding behavioral engagement. Notably, the largest discrepancies occur in behaviors requiring infrastructural support or economic investment, such as the use of renewable resources or organic products. Beyond individual-level differences, the findings suggest that environmental engagement is shaped by broader socio-economic and infrastructural contexts that either enable or constrain behavioral expression. This underlines the insufficiency of awareness-raising alone, and calls for structural policy measures that reduce barriers to sustainable action. These findings underscore the contextual constraints that inhibit behavior despite favorable attitudes, challenging assumptions of behavioral universality in environmental psychology. The results affirm the need for targeted interventions that address both structural barriers and demographic realities. The study contributes to theoretical models of environmental behavior by distinguishing between attitudinal and behavioral pathways and highlights practical implications for policymakers, educators, and sustainability advocates. Demographically tailored strategies may prove essential in narrowing the gap between ecological awareness and everyday environmental action.

Megjegyzések:This study aims to identify the settlements most significantly impacted by tourism globally and analyze the underlying reasons behind these trends. By examining 255 locations worldwide, the research provides insights into the territorial distribution of tourism activities and their evolution over time. Given the rapid transformations in global travel patterns due to economic, environmental, and technological changes, understanding these dynamics is crucial for sustainable tourism planning and destination management. The analysis employs advanced statistical techniques, including Variable Clustering (VARCLUS), Principal Component Analysis (PCA), and Factor Analysis of Mixed Data (FAMD), to evaluate the rankings and sub-indicators of the studied locations. These methods allow for a detailed examination of regional and typological patterns, integrating continuous and categorical data to create a comprehensive map of tourism-affected areas. The findings reveal significant regional and typological patterns in global tourism. European coastal and heritage sites are predominantly influenced by international tourism indicators, while North American and Asian urban areas exhibit a stronger reliance on domestic tourism indicators. The study highlights the dominance of certain factors shaping tourism dynamics and offers insights into the varying nature of tourism impacts across regions. The research provides actionable recommendations for policymakers and economic stakeholders to develop more effective regulatory and economic strategies. By addressing the distinct needs of different regions, the study contributes to a better understanding of tourism's evolving scale and offers a foundation for targeted policy interventions. The study separates the problems caused by domestic and international visitors, which is important for economic policy. In places like Venice and Dubrovnik in Europe, which are popular with tourists, higher prices and taxes could help to control tourism and fund efforts to protect the environment. In North America and Asia, planning for cities and managing infrastructure are important to balance tourism growth with the quality of life for locals.
