Megjegyzések:In this paper, we are going to discuss some possible applications of the theory of functional equations in high school education. We would like to line up some problems, the solution of which by functional equations are mostly not new results - they have also been treated in [1] and [2] -, although their demonstrations in high school can show a new way in teaching of talented students. The area of the rectangle, the calculating method of compound interest, binomial coefficients, Euler's formula, the scalar product and the vector product of vectors ? we are looking for the reasons behind the well-known formulas. Finally, we are going to give a functional equation in connection with mean values. It can be understood easily, but its solution is beyond the high school curriculum, so we advise this part only to the most talented students.

Megjegyzések:The efficiency of each question in the mathematics written final exam is not recorded by the institutions organizing the graduation exam. In order to overcome this deficiency the committee of final exams in mathematics and the Hungarian Educational Authority ask schools to send ? beyond the total marks obtained on the paper ? the scores of each question of all individual candidates to the Authority every year since 2012. Because a high proportion of schools complied with this request between 2012 and 2015, the researchers were provided valuable information for a deeper analysis on the effectiveness of exams. In this paper we have carried out an analysis of the efficiencyof questions set in the written examination papers both on the intermediate and on the higher level in the last four years, on the basis of these voluntary data reports.

Megjegyzések:Normalization is an important database planning method, although the understanding and appli-cation of this method brings up the most problem during data modelling. That is why we were looking for alternative normalization methods, from which the normalization with dependency diagram proved to be the most efficient. This was confirmed by the statistical estimation of the carried out survey.

Megjegyzések:An important goal of concept learning is that students can allocate conceptsin the hierarchical system of concepts. In the data modelling course, first, we supportedconcept systematization with worksheets in which the students had to fill in the blankhierarchical figures of classification of the concepts or blank Venn diagrams describingthe relationships between concepts. The hierarchical systems, however, are somewhatrestricted to the description of connections. The filling in Venn diagrams did not deliverthe expected result, so our attention turned to concept maps. In this paper we introducethe concept maps we drew. Then we evaluate the results of concept mapping surveyconducted among students. The survey was done in three courses. We compare theresults of our survey with the result of an earlier concept systematising survey.

The participants of the case study wereMSc level students at Szent Istv ?an University, G ?od ?oll ?o.In the case study we looked for methods by which we can support the most impor-tant components of competence motivation and the development of mathematical andother key competences during the mathematics lessons and individual learning.Another goal of our research was to get reliable information about students learningmethods and their awareness of self-efficiency, furthermore their achievement in thesubject of Engineering and Economic Mathematics.Detailed assistance was provided for the students in the e-learning portal. Knowl-edge tests, questionnaire and personal interviews with the students were also used.During the semester four topics have been discussed: linear programming, graphtheory, game theory and differential equations. In this article I will describe the lessonpreparations, the help for examinations and the students' achievement on game theory.

Megjegyzések:We carried out research using Zalman Usiskin's test (1982) and also a modified version of his test to see how the geometric approach of secondary school students (Grades 8-10) specialized in mathematics had changed. We observed two groups of students for several years. Our aim was to find a relation between the change of the mean of the van Hiele level of the students and the structure of the geometry syllabus. We also observed if there was a change in the geometric approach of the students during the summer holidays and if so, in what way it changed.
