Megjegyzések:The use of eye-tracking in the field of tourism is not very widespread, most of the existing studies use this qualitative tool to investigate the viewing of tourism websites or advertising. In contrast, this paper focuses on the identification and examination of the negative effects associated with the phenomenon of overtourism through photographs. The primary research involved 14 participants, and the results were presented using heat-map plots. Participants devoted considerable time to viewing the signs of the negative impacts of tourism in the photos, but based on the responses to the questionnaire completed after the remote eye device survey, it was found that their willingness to travel was not affected to a considerable extent in a negative direction by the undesirable elements in the photos. Broken down by gender, women spent less time exploring natural beauty and built heritage, while men spent more time viewing these areas.

Megjegyzések:In 2024, Hungary implemented a nationwide Deposit-Refund System (DRS) for single-use beverage containers to promote recycling and reduce environmental waste. This study provides a follow-up assessment of consumer reactions one year after the system's launch, highlighting the evolution of public attitudes and behavioural adaptation over time. Based on an online survey conducted in early 2025 with 1,475 respondents, our analysis reveals a notable shift from initial scepticism to broader acceptance of the DRS. While early concerns focused on inconvenience, subsequent user experience has led to more favourable perceptions, with over half of respondents now supporting the initiative. Importantly, our study identifies persistent operational challenges?such as machine reliability and limited return infrastructure?that continue to undermine user satisfaction. This research offers novel insights into the temporal dynamics of consumer acceptance in environmental policy adoption by comparing current attitudes withpre-implementation expectations. The findings contribute to the growing literature on circular economy tools by underscoring the need for continuous system refinement and targeted communication to sustain public engagement with deposit-refund schemes.

Megjegyzések:In Hungary, from January 1, 2024, the Government Decree of the 450/2023 (X. 4.) regulates the conditions for establishing and applying the deposit fee for pet bottles, metal cans, and glass bottles. The new Deposit-Refund System has been of serious interest among Hungarian consumers, since its rules interfere in the everyday lives of ordinary people, sometimes imposing a greater or lesser financial burden on them. The aim of our research was to find out the preliminary perceptions of Hungarian consumers about this system even before its introduction, since these perceptions can significantly influence its consumer acceptance in the future and provide an opportunity to examine and deal with critical factors in advance, and to reduce preliminary consumer concerns. To reach our research aim we conducted an online consumer survey with 8,225 people. According to our results, about half of the respondents consider the introduction of the new rules to be a promising idea, but at the same time, two-thirds of the respondents feel more or less discomfort about the new system. The preliminary expectations are therefore mostly negative, especially in the ♭Those worried' and ♭Those refusing' consumer segments. In addition to discomfort, environmental doubts and economic concerns also appear in consumer opinions, which can hinder the adoption of the new system.

Megjegyzések:Today, a significant number of academic studies analyze the changes in sustainable development and consumer attitudes that accompany it. Advertising research remains very popular, but few results have been published in the international literature on the attractiveness of green advertising, including in Hungary. The present study aimed to assess the purchasing patterns and product preferences influenced by green advertising strategies, highlighting aspects of trend following and environmentally friendly behaviors. A survey on green advertising with 306 answers was conducted in Hungary. Out of 22 statements, 4 factors, and based on them five significantly distinguished clusters were identified, with different attitudes toward green advertising, revealing which groups can be effectively reached by them. Out of the five clusters, the "Subjective Environmentalists" and "Objective Environmentalists" believed the purchase of green products to be more important than the average, so they can be considered to be the main target group for sustainable communication. Our results also show that there are still a significant number of passive individuals (the "Rejecters" cluster), those who focus on trends rather than sustainability (the "Trend-following Neutrals"), and those who like advertisements but do not purchase green products (the "Advertising Lovers"). Overall, however, it can be concluded that the acceptance of green advertising is higher than for traditional advertising, so the outlook for the spread and popularity of green advertising is likely to be optimistic.
