Megjegyzések:This paper aimed to present and quantify the impact of significant HRM factors on the survival of SMEs in the V4 countries. In June 2022, researchers conducted a study in the Visegrad Four countries to understand the attitudes of SMEs. The study employed a random sampling method and included 1,398 respondents. The established scientific hypothesis was verified using linear regression modelling at a significance level of α = 5%. The study found a link between specific HR practices and the medium-term survival of SMEs in the Visegrad Four countries. The intensity of this dependence varies across the V4 countries. Czech respondents emphasized the importance of investing in improving the qualification of their employees in the context of firm sustainability. At the same time, Slovak SMEs drew attention to the importance of the existing incentive system for employees. SMEs in Poland strongly and positively perceived the importance of human capital in the company and regular evaluation of employee performance in their attitudes. A somewhat surprising finding is that in Hungary, the individual HRM factors were not statistically significant. The aggregate model for all V4 countries showed the highest intensity of dependence between the defined variables.

Megjegyzések:Explanation of the recently intensified willingness to migrate has many components, among which migration for the purpose of employment is a paramount one. The study deals with the exploration of the three basic characteristics of globalizing employment in Central and Eastern Europe and Hungary in particular: migration motivations of foreign employees, their labour market characteristics and the degree of their social integration. The authors aim to provide a comprehensive picture of the content of engagement - which is continuously becoming significant in practice - of highly qualified employees originating from developed countries. The findings at the end of the analysis - due to the size and homogenous nature of the sample - are mostly thought-experiments, but we expect to provide a valid contribution to scientific and everyday discussions about migration.

Megjegyzések:Company stakeholders must have reliable and accurate information about the companies falling into their sphere of interest. In Hungary, one of the key sources of information for company stakeholders is the financial statements and related explanations, which are included in the notes of the financial statements (notes). This study used text mining to analyse the Hungarian annual financial statements notes for 2017, 2019 and 2021. The selection of the notes was based on the proportions of each sector in the national economy. The research analysed 28,700 company notes annually, totalling 86,100 documents for the three years. The text mining and generation of the Term Frequency Matrix have performed 'quanteda' packages of the R statistical system, which incorporate the results of artificial intelligence research to enhance the efficiency of text mining. Based on the results, the contents of the notes to the financial statements appear to be a rather mixed picture in Hungary. Analysing the term frequency matrix for the 67 most common terms has revealed no significant difference between the years. However, considerable differences have been caused by size categories and sectors. The notes are statistically significant using Jaccard similarity analysis, considering the year, corporate size, and sector.

Megjegyzések:The aim of this paper is to present the transition towards sustainability and its characteristics in consumer systems of different levels. The relevance of the topic comes from the many development paths and innovation programmes which are initially recognized as sustainable in former socialist countries but which eventually all turn out to be unsuccessful. This study introduces the research which compares the sustainable consumer attitudes of the "50+" population in Switzerland and Hungary. The former is one of the most advanced consumer communities in Europe and the latter is a post-communist economy in transition. The representative sample, which contained over 1000 questionnaires and complementary personal interviews, clearly indicated the difference between the two groups of consumers. While among Swiss population marketing tools and social discussions to promote sustainable and environmentally friendly consumption can easily be applied, in the case of Hungarian society we need to introduce new regulations and legislative standards to achieve the same aim. In the future, taking into account these results is highly recommended when considering the development of sustainability and political programmes.

Megjegyzések:Environmental, social and governance (ESG) disclosures maintain a sustainable strategic fit between the organization's goals and its changing environment and have an impact on the firm's ability to attract funds, gain competitiveness, and hence firm's financial performance (FFP). The objective of the present study is to evaluate the impact of environmental, social, and governance disclosures (ESGD) on firm financial performance (FFP), especially emphasizing the moderating role of firm internationalization. The study employed a panel dataset of 697 firms listed in the Asia-Pacific emerging economies from 2013 to 2022. The findings of the fixed effect and robust twostage least square estimations reflect that the modern pillars of corporate social responsibility ? ESGD - significantly and negatively influence FFP; however, the degrees of corporate internationalization (international intensity, geographical extensity) significantly and positively moderate the association between ESGD and FFP. The findings of the current study have several implications for regulatory bodies, practitioners, and administrative decision-making authorities in both government and corporations. We further recommend a course of action where an attempt can be made to encourage international trade that is best aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals.

Megjegyzések:Effective partnership of education and business is a catalyst for innovation transfer, startup ecosystem development and sustainable economic growth. The research aims to identify the impact of university-industry R&D collaboration on startups performance, taking into account existing knots and gap intervals. The study sample was formed for 100 world countries, represented in the Global Startup Ecosystem Index rating. The formed base includes data of the University-industry R&D collaboration indicator within the Global Innovation Index 2023 by WIPO and data of the Global Startup Ecosystem Index 2023 by StartupBlink. In the first stage, the procedures for checking the significance of investigated indicators were applied, including descriptive statistics, checking the distribution law and regression analysis. The second stage covers the construction of median-spline plots, scatter plots and spline modelling using the STATA 18 program complex. The range of values of the University-industry R&D collaboration index was determined on the condition of reaching which the maximum statistically significant value of the indicator of startup productivity is predicted. The obtained results confirm the importance of an entrepreneurial university concept for innovation transfer and their commercialization and provide a view of the targeted value of the University-industry R&D collaboration on average at the world level.

Megjegyzések:Cryptocurrencies are quickly becoming a key tool in investment decisions. The volatile nature of bitcoin prices has spurred the demand for robust predictive models. The primary objective of this study is to evaluate and compare the effectiveness of different machine learning models with the combination of technical indicators in predicting bitcoin prices. The study used 27 critical technical indicators to evaluate four machine learning techniques, namely Artificial Neural Network (ANN), a Hybrid Convolutional Neural Network and Long Short-Term Memory (CNN-LSTM), Support Vector Machine (SVM), and Random Forest. The results showed that ANN and SVM achieve a significant prediction accuracy of 81% and 82%, respectively, which is higher than the results of traditional models such as standard ARIMA. In practical applications, these methods often improve prediction accuracy by 20-30% over traditional models. The novelty of the analysis lies in the use of temporal and spatial trends via momentum, ROC, and %K features, making for a holistic approach to cryptocurrency market forecasting. This study underscores the critical importance of specific technical indicators and the imperative role of data mining in revolutionizing cryptocurrency market navigation. The research results highlight opportunities to improve investment strategies and risk management policies in the bitcoin market using machine learning models, making the latter valuable to investors and financial experts.

Megjegyzések:The aim of this paper is to identify key relevant characteristics of pathological workplaces and their importance via logistic regression and the creation of the model that would be based on this method. Online questionnaire survey was used for collecting the data. It has been realized in 2023 on the sample of 489 respondents. These respondents were employees of companies that operated in the Slovak Republic. The model itself has been developed using logistic regression. The model has identified relevant characteristics of the pathological workplace: 1) sectoral type of the company; 2) type of corporate culture; 3) type of leadership. Toxic workplaces are present mostly in companies from accommodation and catering services where personal culture and authoritative leadership take place. With the same profile of corporate culture and leadership, also sectors of education, healthcare, and social assistance have been detected as more likely to be endangered by toxicity. However, little is known about the characteristics of pathological workplaces, which could help to prevent unhealthy relationships between managers and employees and lead the company to more effective production and operation on the market. The research abstracts from the generational specifics of subjects who are involved in the pathological working schemes.

Megjegyzések:Our research deals with a comprehensive study of the management success factors of logistics service providers using a new approach, and examines the life of logistics service companies. The data were collected from 51 logistics service providers in Hungary. We searched for the proper enterprise scale - acquisitions - strategies (including the method of looking for the economies of scale in the LSP segment to be examined, and the role of strategy choice). Our research has found that among logistics companies those firms which followed the growth pattern has significantly higher sales revenue than the companies growing organically. Additionally, logistics companies - considering their pre-tax profits - work more efficiently when they have a growth strategy (regardless of its time lag). However, this claim is true only for those companies that did not have any (revenue) growth over the previous period. The results of our research can effectively help logistics service providers find their business success factors, which will enable them fulfil the expectations of their customers in the supply chain better. - Foundation of International Studies, 2017 and CSR, 2017.
