Megjegyzések:This work presents a comprehensive study utilizing Precursore Iperspettrale della Missione Applicativa (PRISMA) hyperspectral imagery in detecting and mapping iron alteration zones associated with gold mineralization in the Red Sea Hills of North-eastern Sudan. The application of hyperspectral color composite and bands rationing techniques aids in enhancing spectral signatures indicative of mineral alterations, thereby facilitating accurate mapping of potential gold mineralization zones. Our study employs a systematic approaches (colour composite and band ratio) integrating field data collection and advanced spectral analysis techniques to characterize and map alteration zones. Band ratios band 30/ band 20 (0.637 ? 0.551 ?m) and band 20 / band 9 (0.551 ? 0.468 ?m) obtained best result. The results demonstrate the effectiveness of PRISMA hyperspectral data for delineating gold mineralization-related iron alteration zones, thus offering valuable insights for mineral exploration in the region.

Megjegyzések:Lithological mapping is vital approach in a variety of geological applications such as mineral exploration, study and understand the origin and tectonic setting for the area under investigation. However, it's challenging to conduct this task in the traditional way mainly in remote areas characterised by rugged topography such as Red Sea. Recently, the integration of remote sensing and machine learning provide an effective quick and low-cost approach in lithological mapping. The aim of this research was to compare the potentiality of Landsat 9 multi-spectral and PRISMA hyperspectral remote sensing data in lithological mapping in Red Sea Area, N-E Sudan. We employed Random Forest (RF) and Naïve Bayes (NB) machine learning algorithms. The study area is covered mainly by; Ophiolite, Meta-volcanic, Marble, Granitoids, Altered rocks and superficial deposits. The results showed that, PRISMA hyperspectral data obtained better classification result compare to the Landsat 9 multi-spectral data using both classifiers. Also, our finding proved that, RF out performance NB in the multi- and hyperspectral datasets. E.g. NB classifier gave Kappa 0.90 and 0.80 while RF provided 0.95 and 0.90 for PRISMA and Landsat 9 respectively. Moreover, the OA was 0.96 and 0.92 for PRISMA and 0.92 and 0.83 for Landsat 9. We firmly recommend this approach as an effective method for mapping lithology in the area where the rocks are cropped out and free vegetation cover regions.

Megjegyzések:We investigated the effectiveness of the U-Net architecture for building extraction from remote sensing data using varying numbers of training images. The results showed promising performance with a few training images (94?97% validation accuracy). However, combining different data sources initially yielded poor results, but the inclusion of a small number of target image training samples significantly improved the accuracy (F1 score increased from 0.184 to 0.693).

Megjegyzések:This study investigates the effects of three different feeding regimes (25% arginine supplementation, 25% arginine restriction, and standard National Research Council-recommended feed) and sex on the performance of grower Japanese quail for fourteen days trial. The total number of quail was 151, with 81 females and 70 males. A two-way analysis of variance was performed to evaluate the interaction between feed type and sex on live weight. The results show a significant (p < 0.001) effect of feed treatment on final live weight and body weight gain, while sex did not significantly (p > 0.05) affect final live weight or weight gain. The findings revealed that quail fed with 25% arginine-restricted diet had significantly (p < 0.001) lower live weights (126.99 ? 2.41) compared to those subjected to 25% arginine supplementation (144.05 ? 1.60) and control feed regime (140.6 ? 1.88). Furthermore, no significant (p = 0.74) interaction between feed type and sex on live weight was observed. The results also indicated a significant (p = 0.02) effect of feed type on feed intake. These findings suggest that dietary arginine levels critically influence live weight changes in grower Japanese quail, while sex does not exert a significant impact. The insignificant interaction between feed type and sex indicates that arginine levels affect live weight in a similar way for both males and females. This study provides valuable insights for optimizing dietary arginine levels to enhance live weight, body weight gains and feed intake performance in grower Japanese quail.

Megjegyzések:An organism's lifespan is governed by the mechanistic target of rapamycin (mTOR) and insulin-like insulin growth factor signaling (IIS) pathways. This review seeks to explore the influence of mTOR and its related signaling pathways on the ageing process in avian species. In birds, this pathway plays a crucial role in regulating physiological effects, longevity, and the ageing phenomenon. Both rapamycin and dietary restrictions have demonstrated the ability to inhibit mTOR, leading to an extension of the maximum lifespan in model organisms. Ageing is charac-terized by a gradual decline in physiological function, impacting overall performance, increa-sing susceptibility to death, and diminishing life expectancy. Addressing this issue through mTOR inhibition via dietary restriction and rapamycin administration, as observed in model organisms, presents a potential solution. Despite similarities, a physiological paradox exists between mammals and birds. Additionally, it is reasonable to infer significant differences in the physiological systems of birds compared to mammals. Variations in how sexes allocate resour-ces to different aspects of reproduction can contribute to differences in longevity and ageing, driven by trade-offs in life history. Despite the limited research conducted on birds ageing, the potential impact of mTOR modulation through interventions remains an intriguing area for furt-her exploration.

Megjegyzések:Excess energy is stored as fat in the liver and adipose tissue. The hepatic lipogenesis is highly responsive to dietary modifications. While it is widely recognized that reducing feed intake can prevent excessive fat deposition in poultry, the mechanism by which dietary availability regulates lipid metabolism through expression of certain genes in the nutrient sensing pathway is understudied. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of dietary restriction on hepatic adiponectin (AdipoQ) gene expression (mRNA) and its receptors (Adipor1 and Adipor2) in Japanese quail (Coturnix japonica). We selected 32 birds aged eight weeks of both sexes with similar body weight and randomly assigned to two experimental groups, the ad libitum and 40% dietary restriction (DR). The experiment was conducted for 14 days, then all birds were sacrificed, and a liver sample was aseptically excised. Results showed that 40% DR significantly upregulate AdipoQ and Adipor1 expression in the liver of male quails, suggesting enhanced fat breakdown. However, no changes were observed in females. These findings highlight a potential sex-specific response to dietary restriction and emphasize the role of adiponectin in liver metabolism. Further research is needed to elucidate the complete regulatory mechanisms involved.

Normalized Difference Vegetation Indices (NDVI), Normalized Difference Built-up Indices (NDBI), and their difference BU were calculated to assess urbanization and vegetation cover, revealing changing trends over time. Results indicate fluctuations in NDVI and BU values, with certain years showing increased urbanization and decreased green space. Afforestation initiatives and urban development projects influence these trends, highlighting the complex interplay between urbanization and vegetation dynamics. The findings offer valuable insights for urban management and future research endeavours.
