Cím:Three candidate gene association study for eleven economically important traits in Hungarian pig breeds / Ágnes Baginé Hunyadi, Péter Balogh, Krisztina Nagy, Szilvia Kusza
Dátum:2016
Megjegyzések:Three genes (EGF, ESR and LEP) and eleven traits (interval between litters (IBL), percent oflitter (PL), number of litters (NL), number of piglets born dead (NBD), number of piglet bornalive (NBA), total number born (TNB), mean of born alive (MBA), mean of born dead(MBD), mean of born total (MBT), mean of piglets at 21 days of age (M21D) and growth rate(GR) were studied as candidate gene influencing reproduction traits in three pig breeds(Hungarian Large White, Duroc and Pietrain) by PCR-RFLP method. Association study usedOne-way ANOVA method suggested that all of the three genes showed significant influenceon the different traits. The AA genotype of EGF gene are preferable for sows, associated withhigher NL, NBA and TNB. The AB of ESR gene, are associated with 0.66 higher M21D thanAA. The highest MBA is associated with TT alleles of LEP gene. MBD is lower in pigs withTT genotype than with TC of LEP gene. Selection for these SNPs could improve thereproductivity in the studied breeds.

Cím:Association and polymorphism study of seven candidate genes with reproductive traits in three pig breeds in Hungary / Ágnes Hunyadi-Bagi, Péter Balogh, Krisztina Nagy, Szilvia Kusza
Dátum:2016
ISSN:0001-527X 1734-154X
Megjegyzések:Seven genes (BF, EGF, ESR, FSHB, H2AFZ, LEP and PRLR) and eleven traits (interval between litters (IBL), percent of litter (PL), number of litters (NL), number of piglets born dead (NBD), number of piglet born alive (NBA), total number born (TNB), mean of born alive (MBA), mean of born dead (MBD), mean of born total (MBT), mean of piglets at 21 days of age (M21D) and growth rate (GR) were studied as candidate gene influencing reproduction traits in three pig breeds (Hungarian Large White (HLW), Duroc and Pietrain) by PCR-RFLP. Based on the observed vs. expected genotypes frequencies populations across loci were in Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium (P>0.05). In case HLW breed ESR and FSH? genes were in disequilibrium.Association study suggested that only EGF gene showed significant influence on the trait NBA and TNB. The AA genotype are preferable for sows, associated with higher NBA and TNB. The longest IBL, and the highest NL is associated with AB and AA genotype of EGF gene. IBL is significantly shorter in case of pigs with AB and AA alleles than BB alleles of PRLR genes. Selection for these SNPs could improve the reproductivity in the studied breeds.

Cím:Genetic polymorphism of CSN2 gene in Banat White and Carpatina goats / Kusza Szilvia, Ilie Daniela Elena, Sauer Maria, Nagy Krisztina, Patras Irina, Gavojdian Dinu
Dátum:2016
ISSN:0001-527X 1734-154X
Megjegyzések:The main objective of the current study was to obtain preliminary results on genetic polymorhism of A and C variants at the CSN2 locus in indigenous Romanian goat (Banat White, Carpatina) breeds using a rapid and efficient genotyping method, TaqMan assay (Applied Biosystems, USA). Hair follicle samples were taken from 73 Banat White and 82 Carpatina purebred goats from Arad, Caras-Severin and Timis counties. After the optimization of the genotyping assay it was found that the most frequent allele at the CSN2 locus was C in Banat White breed, while CSN2*A and CSN2*C showed similar frequencies in Carpatina breed (0.51 and 0.49, respectively). All three genotypes were detected in the two studied breeds, however, AA was the least frequent, especially in Banat White. The studied polymorphisms are potential markers for milk production in the studied breeds and the results will be useful in future works aimed at identifying possible associations with milk production traits, in order to test the feasibility of producing hypoallergenic organic goat milk.

Cím:Study of LGB gene polymorphisms of small ruminants reared in Eastern Europe / Kusza Szilvia, Daniela Elena Ilie, Maria Sauer, Nagy Krisztina, Traian Stefan Atanasiu, Dinu Gavojdian
Dátum:2018
ISSN:1212-1819
Megjegyzések:The objectives of the current research were: (i) to determine the allele and genotype frequencies of the LGB gene in the sheep and goat breeds reared in Eastern Europe; (ii) to implement a comparative study in order to evaluate the milk production potential and efficiency of the main sheep and goat dairy breeds reared in Romania; (iii) to test the genetic basis and feasibility of introducing the molecular-marker assisted selection for this trait into future breeding schemes designed for small ruminants. Totally 731 purebred unrelated sheep (Turcana: 111, Racka: 98, Tsigai: 79, Karakul of Botosani: 60, Transylvanian Merino: 77) and goats (Carpatina: 82, Banat's White: 73, Saanen: 74, French Alpine: 77) were sampled and genotyped for the earlier detected alleles. The frequencies of A (0.44?0.53) and B (0.42?0.51) alleles of LGB gene were generally equal, while the C allele incidence was significantly lower for all sheep breeds studied. A relatively low or missing incidence of the C allele and no BC genotype were detected in the studied sheep breeds. All studied sheep breeds were in Hardy?Weinberg equilibrium. Gene homozygosity was lower than gene heterozygosity, with the effective allele numbers ranging from 2.00 (Transylvanian Merino) to 2.23 (Tsigai). Two alleles (A and B) and two genotypes (AA and AB) were detected in the four goat breeds studied. Allele A was the most frequent allele found in all breeds (0.57?0.68), while AB genotype had the highest frequency. Gene homozygosity was higher than gene heterozygosity, while the effective allele numbers varied between 1.76 (Banat's White) and 1.96 (Carpatina). The frequency of alleles and genotypes was similar to that reported in other Eastern sheep and goat breeds, however polymorphism has not been studied yet among these breeds in such a high number in Romania. An association study between single nucleotide polymorphisms and milk production traits should follow.

Cím:Polymorphism of the B-casein gene in the Hungarian racka sheep / Nagy Krisztina, Kusza Szilvia, Kukovics Sándor, Jávor András
Dátum:2015
ISSN:1583-4301
Megjegyzések:Milk composition of mammalian species varies widely with reference to genetic, nutritional factors and environmental conditions. The aim of this study was to determine allele and genotype frequencies at the ?-casein gene in a Hungarian sheep breed. Racka sheep is multi-purpose breed used for milking, wool and meat, with two color variants black and white. The study was carried out on 50 sheep: 25 white and 25 black variant by means of Taqman probe analysis. Molecular analysis of the ?-casein,CSN2 locus showed that the genetic variant A were dominant, had higher frequency in both color variations. The frequency of the G variant were low in the racka population.
