Megjegyzések:This study explores the impact of COVID-19 on Global Value Chains (GVCs) using the Eurostat dataset, focusing on trade barriers and the difficulty of sourcing raw materials or intermediate goods from local and international suppliers. Using a contingency table grouped by country, we can see how raw material constraints and COVID-19's GVCs affect many countries. The study uses Chi-square test to determine if these factors have a significant association. The data imply that foreign sourcing presents less challenges for suppliers than domestic sourcing, stressing the need of examining the consumer behaviour under uncertainties to develop GVCs resilience. The findings show a statistically significant link between barriers related to raw material and the effect level of COVID-19 in global value chains across all countries analysed. Suggesting that it is unlikely to have happened by random chance alone, highlighting the importance of addressing trade barriers and adapting to the impact of COVID-19 within global value chains.

Megjegyzések:COVID-19 has profoundly impacted the already vulnerable pharmaceutical, agricultural, and food supply chains, leading to disruptions in their sourcing processes. Hence, it is crucial to emphasize the universal imperative of enhancing resilience in Global Value Chains across various industries in today's interconnected global economy. It seeks to explore how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted GVCs and influenced the availability of critical resources. We have investigated the repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic on Global Value Chains due to its widespread disruption of supply chains, which has posed immediate challenges for businesses and necessitated resilience strategies. Our research reveals a consistent relationship between impact levels observed in domestic and international contexts. Changes in domestic impact levels closely align with those observed abroad, indicating a robust positive correlation. This correlation emphasizes the interdependence of sourcing challenges across both domestic and international spheres. We propose near-shoring as a management strategy by integrating regional market trends alongside digital transformation to optimize supply chain resilience, enabling businesses to cope with fluctuations in markets and take advantage on new possibilities.

Megjegyzések:In our article, we present the structure of a process-oriented data warehouse created according to the OLAP (online analytical processing) principle that enables simple process controlling in crop production with 1 hectare process cost and time. To identify the sequence of operations and parallelism of the processes, we used interval ranking theory, which was implemented in the Power Query M formula language. The data available at the right time and in the right way and the economic calculations that can be produced from them, as well as the presentation of the produced information to managers, are crucial in the decision-making process for the organizations. Wide range of digital solutions has an important role to support the business activities and the decision making in the case of farm management as well. It is important to determine the structure of the data required to base the economic calculations, build a data model and create a multidimensional database, this lays the foundation for the calculation of economic and financial indicators, which can help in making economic decisions.

Megjegyzések:The incredible scale of development in the world requires constant innovation of technologies used in agriculture. Precision agriculture is also one of the most defining trends in drone technology,representinga revolutionary innovation in arable crop production. Its continuous monitoring provides many opportunities to assess the specific culture, estimate yields, determine water shortages and nutrient deficiencies, and applyforother decision support. Frequent flights provide farmers with up-to-date information sothey can respond to changes in status quickly and cost-effectively. The use of drones is also responsible for improving thecompetitiveness of agriculture.Drones and solutions based on them are spreading rapidly around the world. After reviewing the relevant international literature, publications and materials published by stakeholders involved in drone technology, we conducted a questionnaire survey among farmersin northern Hungary. Commitment and willingness to precision developments were discoveredashow open they are to modern agriculture achievements, to what extentthey are willing to sacrifice technology, especiallyspray drones, to what extentthey keep in mind aspects related to the environmental load and with what willingness to invest. Overall, the perception of precision elements ispositive, farmers 71% considerthe use of drones in plant protection, for example, aaccurate and helpfuland useful idea, which reduces treading damage, chemical use and soil use.

Megjegyzések:The Albanian economy relies heavily on the agricultural sector. However, the lack of comprehensive farm management data reduces Albanian agricultural enterprises' competitiveness in global markets. The purpose of this article is to propose the building of a data gathering, analysis, and visualization application utilizing the C# programming language and the.NET framework. Big data in agriculture can help businesses improve their efficiency, competitiveness, and performance. Drawing on current challenges in Albanian agri-SMEs, it presents a logical structure for a web application designed to improve small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in theagricultural sector by easing sales and purchase monitoring while optimizing profitability. The study suggests that data-driven solutions are essential for agricultural optimization in Albania, with guidelines for future refinement and implementation.

Megjegyzések:Agriculture has a certain specialty in information technology, and the application of new ICT technologies is inevitable. First, we discuss the idea behind data, concepts such as data storytelling, types and proper use of visualisation. There are several well-known visualisation types, but we would like to point out some AI (Artificial Intelligence) based ones (decomposition tree, treemap, Q&A). Our institute has prepared a survey to investigate ICT usage and attitudes of companies in the agri-food sector. The importance of business processes that can be supported by ICT had to be evaluated by the companies. In this study, we evaluated the importance of some ICT indicators. To ensure the use of the mentioned intelligent visualisation, we present some examples from our institute's questionnaire on ICT use in agriculture. We found the smart visualisation usable and the idea of smart dashboards seems to be usable in practice
