Megjegyzések:Bihor County has remarkable and various tourism resources in the frontier area which could be exploited more efficiently considering the tourism development strategies on different hierarchical levels, opportunities for investments using non-refundable financial support and the multilateral trans-frontier relationships due to its territorial location and historical and ethnical background. This study gives an insight in the relationship and consistency of development strategies, in the importance and the territorial distribution of implemented projects within Interreg IV and V Hungarian-Romanian Cross-border Cooperation Programmes, that concern tourism development in Bihor. All projects regarding Bihor were categorized through content and comparative analysis based on public documentation of Interreg Programmes which contributed to establishing three main category of winner applications: tourism development projects, indirect tourism development projects and other type of projects. The county has an exceptional position due to its high share of the number of projects and the amount of gained aid within the examined programmes, although there exist multilateral territorial inequalities in the location of project partners, in the total amount of non-refundable financial support from European Regional Development Fund and in the gained aid per capita on the level of local governments of the county. Based on the territorial distribution, mostly the urban areas and their catchment rural settlements on the eastern, central and north-western part of the county benefitted from the Interreg VI and V in case of tourism development.

Megjegyzések:The aim of this study is to examine the activities of local governments in Hungary in relation to tourism taxes in the post-COVID-19 era. The research is significant in two respects: on the one hand, local taxes, and one type of these, tourism tax, are a very important source of financial independence for Hungarian municipalities. On the other hand, during the coronavirus pandemic, Hungarian municipalities were unable to introduce this type of tax or increase its rate. Within this framework, the research basically seeks to answer three questions: how local governments have approached the tou rism tax in recent decades and especially in the first half 2020s, what role does tourism tax play in the local government tax system and what factors influence local governments in deciding whether to levy the tourism tax and, if so, what tax rate they ap ply. The primary data sources for the research were data from the Hungarian State Treasury and the Central Statistical Office on the subject, and relevant legislation was also used. The research analysed data on the application of different types of local taxes introduced by municipalities (whether this type of tax has been introduced or not). In addition, the index developed by the author made it possible to compare tax rates (tourist tax - other types of local taxes, tax rates applied by different types of local governments). Using the above methods, the following main findings can be highlighted as the results of research. Firstly, Hungarian local governments relied more than average on the tourism tax, which is essentially linked to the nature o f the tax (it is not a tax on the local population, and therefore leaders of settlements need not fear a decline in popularity among local voters). On the other hand, the activity of local authorities in the field of tourism tax is largely influenced by the size of the settlements (larger settlements employ tourist tax at a higher rate and introduce higher tax rates) and their tourism classification (local governments in settlements located in tourist regions designated by the central government introduce th is type of tax more frequently, and in their case the tax rate is also higher).

Megjegyzések:Sports-related training camps constitute a very dynamically growing branch of sports tourism. The aim of this paper is to examine training camps in the case of a Central European city, Debrecen, one of the most important settlements of Hungary in terms of sports, which hosted several sporting events of international significance in the past decade. There is a significant fluctuation in the number of training camps held, which is related to the economic crisis, preparation for the Olympics, as well as problems in public administration. As far as branches of sports are concerned, team sports play an outstanding role; in addition, swimming could also be highlighted. Regarding the timing of training camps the months of February, July and August play the most important role and distribution is closely linked to the nature of the individual branches of sports. Analysing the factors influencing countries of participants, geographical proximity plays a major role; besides the importance of personal connections could be mentioned.

Megjegyzések:Heritage tourism can be considered as one of the fastest developing branches of tourism today but the prerequisite of the success of local authorities in this filed is a proactive approach. In the spirit of the above, the aim of the present paper is to examine the development documents of the most important settlements of Hajdú-Bihar county (Hungary) and to answer the question how the heritage products appear in the specific documents concerned. As a result it can be concluded that firstly From among the values to be preserved in connection with heritage, the biggest emphasis is on the build environment; at the same time - due to the unique historical past of the towns - a very significant role is also given to the unique settlement structure. Secondly among the possible areas of the utilisation of heritage, the first place is occupied by the physical appearance of the settlements (building stock, settlement structure); at the same time, an important role is also played in the social life of the towns (e.g. the preservation of identity, shaping communities).
