Cím:The application of bentonite on sandy soil, and its inpact on the readily available nutrient content and microbial characteristics of soil / Kátai János, Tállai Magdolna
Dátum:2008
Megjegyzések:We have studied the effect of the different dosages of bentonite, in addition to basic treatments, on acidic sandy soil. We have measured the readily available nutrient content, and microbial activity of soil. Our test plant was rye-grass (Lolium perenne L.). The small-pot experiment was set up at University of Debrecen, Centre for Agricultural Sciences and Engineering (UD CAS), Department of Agrochemistry and Soil Science, in 2007. We have done our laboratory researches in the soil microbiology laboratory of the Department of Agrochemistry and Soil Science. Statistical analysis of the data was done using the program SPSS 13.0, means of the measurements, deviation, significance values, and correlation analisys were calculated. Based on examination results it can be stated, that the treatments had a beneficial effect for the some measured soil characteristics. Regarding the changes in the soil nutrient content, small and medium dosages proved to be the most effective. Regarding the microbial activity of soil the small dosage treatment favourably influanced the total number of fungi, and the CO2-production of soil. The medium dosage encouraged to the total number of bacteria, quantitative occurrence of the cellulose-decomposing, and nitrifying bacteria, as well as the changes of the activity of saccharase enzyme, while the high dosages increased the urese enzyme significantly. Apart from the activity of the urease enzyme, the microbial activity decreased for the effect of high dosages. In the correlation analysis, we found relationships between the studied soil chemical, and microbial parameters. Strong positive correlation was found between the quantitative change of two phisiological groups, the cellulose decomposing bacteria, and the nitrifying bacteria (r=786), as well as between the quantitative occurrence of cellulose decomposing bacteria and the CO2-production of soil (r=0,773). Strong correlation was proved between the total number of bacteria, and the change of acivity of saccharase enzyme (r=869).
