Megjegyzések:	The researches dealing with regenerating energy prove unambiguously that the biomass could be the important basic material for energy supply in the future. There is significant shortfall in this area in Hungary compared with more developed countries, but the development - if slowly - has also started in our country. In my article, as the result of a survey I present the energy potential of cuttings accumulating in the conglomeration of Debrecen, then I analyse the stages and experience of the survey. At present the utilisation of the cuttings is unsolved in our region, what is more in most cases these materials are burnt in a manner polluting the environment. Therefore I examine the reasons for this and present the conditions and possibilities for their energy utilisation.
