The main purpose of the research work was to analyze how the air change rate (ACH) is influenced by the heating system type and which values of PMV can be obtained when we have a natural ventilation of the room. This is very important because on one hand in the case of old buildings the infiltrated fresh air flow can be significant, on the other hand at new buildings or building refurbishments with no mechanical ventilation, due to the high air tightness of windows the necessary fresh air may be introduced through gaps practiced in the windows frame. In this cases the ACH is practically uncontrolled, the indoor-outdoor temperature difference, the air velocity and the gap size are the main parameters which should be taken into account. In laboratory of Building Physics lots of measurements have been done. The measurements have shown that the highest ACH is obtained at ceiling heating system. The lowest fresh air flow was measured at radiator heating where the warm air operates like a curtain protecting the occupants from the infiltrated cold air. The highest values for PMV were obtained in the case of floor heating.
