Megjegyzések:	Northern-block is a less disturbed, high-situated structural block at Maza-Varalja-South in the Mecsek. The investigated area was folded, faulted, eroded and covered by sediments. This complex structure was modelled by gOcad 3D modelling software, which uses its own interpolation method (DSI) to generate the smoothest surfaces. Users set constraints initializing interpolation. The recent modelling is based on digitized well logs, geological sections and maps of the latest geological report. First the structural and stratigraphic surfaces were built up and they were followed by the surfaces of coal seams, because seismic profiles cannot reveal thin seams, only the boundaries of the sequences. A new volume calculation was performed with similar results to the former one; however the most important results are the surfaces, because mining engineer can import them into mine planning software to make sections in any directions and scales thus planning the exploitation.
