Megjegyzések:	In the contrasting European educational space the rate of pupils having special educa-tional needs is increasing throughout Europe irrespective of the multiple and contrary policy directives (Cermin & Thomas, 2005). Articles reported here refer to a new approach of inclusive education in England and wish to introduce a new perspective contributing to the deeper understanding of policies, practices and research results of inclusive education in Hungary. In this paper we offer a more extended spectrum of research concerns and discourses of sociology of education to explain difficulties pupils have to face so that they do not become marginalized in a learning environment. Our argument is organized around two connected themes. First we focus on effective in-school practices and then relates these practices to issues of social and educational aspects of learning environment. Authors presented in this paper question the relation of ability and attainment and suggest new perspectives and practices to avoid the exclusionary pressures of comparative educational spaces leading to maladaptive learning identities.
