Megjegyzések:	The data obtained from orthophotos evaluation may vary in accuracy according to the scale andresolution on the one hand and the types of cartographic units depicted on them on the other. Therefore,expected accuracy of the data to be obtained from the photos meant for use should be known prior toevaluation. Provided we have advance knowledge of the accuracy values, it may be judged whether thedata would meet the requirements of the task in hand. In order to define these accuracy values we haveevaluated aerial images of two chosen test sites by comparing points and lines obtained by landscapemeasurements with those digitalized from orthophotos. The aim of our analysis was to determine thedifference between the vector files obtained from digitized orthophotos and those obtained by usinggeodesic measurements. We have examined whether accuracy changed with different resolutions oforthophotos. By using statistical methods we defined the expected accuracy of road centerlines digitizedfrom photos. The determination was done by using 0.1 m/pixel, 0.4 m/pixel and 0.5 m/pixel resolutions.Our study wants to point out that the assessments we apply may indirectly be put to use for planning andresearch work, and the resulting data may effectively be used for road line planning, and determining roadsegments and public utility crossings.
