Megjegyzések:Modified atmosphere has been widely used for long-time storage of different fruits. Breathable bags providing Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) has been successfully used for Prunus avium (cherry, or sweet cherry), but we have limited knowledge about its usage for Prunus cerasus (sour cherry or tart cherry). Prunus cerasus varieties widely known to has high nutritional values with high melatonin, vitamin A, beta-carotene and flavonoid contents, while having lower sugar content than sweet cherries.Quality parameters were determined for firmness (Durofel-Index), colour (Ctifl-Index), sugar content (Brix%), titratable acid and anthocyanin content in three different conditions: (i) following harvest, (ii) following cold storage and (iii) following cold storage with MAP. Shelf-life was monitored using disease severity index (0-6) for detecting the activity of fruit decaying fungi. The incidence of the different fungi were also comparing at the end of the shelf-life tests.Quality parameters have decreased following 60 days cold storage, while MAP storage resulted similar parameters, like fruits following harvest. Antioxidant content has not changed dramatically during the storage either. However shelf-life was significantly reduced following 60 days storage in both cases. The fungal microbiota of the pre-storage and post-storage fruits has also changed with dominating Alternaria and Penicillium species following cold storage. Further optimization of pre and/or postharvest treatments may extend the storage and the shelf-life of the Prunus cerasus fruits providing longer time for availability of fresh fruit with high nutritional value with the help of cold MAP storage.
