Megjegyzések:	One of the typical landscape type of the Hungarian lowland areas is solonetzic grassland, which is situated on the eastern part of the Hungarian Plain. Our research aimed to describe and haracterize soil transformation processes of solonetz soils fewdecades after on their afforestation in the Püspökladány Station of the National Agricultural Research and Innovation Centre (NARIC) Forest Research Institute. The characteristics of the soil organic matter, the cation exchange complex, pH and carbonate content were compared on afforestated alkaline-solonetzic soils with the non-forested alkaline grasslands. Several decades after afforestation a significant decrease of soil pH, eluviation of exchangeable sodium and an increase of the organic matter could be observed. We also examined the soils in order to perceive how precisely is possible to identify the taxonomic status according to the World Reference Base for Soils (WRB) of soil profiles based on their former taxonomic status and archived, and then surveyed soil data according to the genetic and diagnostic classification.
