Megjegyzések:	Handball is a dynamically developing and one of the most popular sports in Europe. Many international studies focus on the surveys of handball players. In this paper we would like to expound these studies and provide a comprehensive overview on each handball playing position. Studies show that the wingers are the lowest players and they have the lowest Body Mass Index. The backs and pivots are the tallest and the latter are the heaviest players. The backs and wingers cover the longest distance during a match, they are good technical players and the latter sprint the most. The goalkeepers got worse results on motoric and physiological tests than the other players and their psychical ability also differs from their companions (e.g. they have the highest value on stress coping scale). The presented literature points out that the coaches should pay particular attention for the different playing positions. They can employ research results in order to obtain special knowledge on player's results to support their professional work. The special knowledge can be the key element of success, laying stabile foundation for preparation and playing.
