HOPF [14] concerning the reducibility of polynomials of the form g(f(x)) where g,f?Z[x] In [8], [9], [10], [12], [13] and [21] we considerably generalized and improved this result. To formulate and prove our irreducibility theorems we associated to every pair f,g in question a certain graph with vertex set consisting of the roots of f. As it turned out, the question of reducibility of g(f(x)) over Q is closely connected with the structure of the corresponding graph.
