Megjegyzések:	While there has been much work investigating the reproductive maturation in birds, studying how the amino acids nutritional composition control growth and development of the ovaries and follicles is fundamental for understanding physiology and improving poultry production. We hypothesized that the growth and development of ovaries and follicles depend on the availability of specific amino acids. We provided Japanese quails with eight diets (control, 80% energy, 80% protein, 80% methionine, 80% feed intake plus 20% (methionine, leucine), 80% feed intake plus 20% leucine, 80% feed intake plus 20% methionine, 80% feed intake). Amino acid supplementation and reduced crude protein increased growth and development of ovarian follicles. Low metabolizable energy diet and restricted diet delayed growth and ovarian follicle development. This study highlights the essential roles of optimal amino acid balance and crude protein in regulating various reproductive traits in poultry.
