Utilizing Landsat satellite imagery from 1990 to 2023, this study investigates the patterns and dynamics of urbanization in Delhi. Normalized Difference Vegetation Indices (NDVI), Normalized Difference Built-up Indices (NDBI), and their difference BU were calculated to assess urbanization and vegetation cover, revealing changing trends over time. Results indicate fluctuations in NDVI and BU values, with certain years showing increased urbanization and decreased green space. Afforestation initiatives and urban development projects influence these trends, highlighting the complex interplay between urbanization and vegetation dynamics. The findings offer valuable insights for urban management and future research endeavours.
