Megjegyzések:Parasitic weeds pose a tremendous threat to agriculture, mainly because they are almost uncontrollable. The root parasites Striga spp. And Orobanche spp. Are vicious pests in both tropical and sub-tropical areas. The high specificity of many organisms (fungi and bacteria), on parasitic weeds, can be considered an advantage because these organisms may work as biocontrol agents where other weed control options have failed. Microorganism can produce a lot of metabolites whose characteristics are diversity in structure and biological activity, and easily degraded. A workable biological control option that may meet the target of reducing S. hermonthica and Orobanche spp. And abating crop- yield- loss is the use of soil borne antagonists or diseases or suppressing germination appears, particularly, promising since they can easily be formulated as seed inoculants. Recently several bacterial isolates and strains including Bacillus spp., Flavobacterium, Pseudomonas spp. Azospirillum brasilense were reported to suppress the germination of the Striga hermonthica. With respect to the fungi results displayed that Mycorrhiza, Fusarium, Trichoderma, Pencillium were the most effective on suppressing the early developmental stages of Striga and Orobache species. Pathogen strategy. An integrated management approach, if properly designed, using a combination of control measures has the potential to provide a lasting solution to the Striga and Orobanche problem.
