Megjegyzések:	The Hungarian plant protection system is unique in the world. Hungary is the first country to introduce university-level education of plant doctors (MSc) and plant protection prescription system. In 2007, the higher education in Plant Doctor MSc course has started. Act XLVI of 2008 on the Food Chain (the act of plant protection in Hungary) codified the name of the profession as Plant Doctor. In 2011, the statistical number of plant doctors was officially introduced in the State Register of Occupations. In Hungary, strict legislations regulate plant protection activity. End-users are only entitled to purchase and use pesticides with marketing category I if they have a plant protection prescription. Only plant doctors who are members of the Plant Protection Chamber are entitled to issue prescriptions. The Hungarian Plant Protection Chamber is unique in the world. Plant protection prescription guarantees the expert use of pesticides with category I supervised by a plant doctor. This report is an overview of the unique practice of the Hungarian plant protection system in the world and the possibilities of extending it to other countries. Let us never forget what our great ancient Greek physician, Hippocrates (c. 460-377 BC) said: "Let food be your first medicine."
