Megjegyzések:	Infertility, the experience of undesired childlessness is considered to be one of the most stressful life events for couples. Present study focuses on the gender comparison of common mental health problems, and especially focuses on men's experiences. The research aimed to evaluate men's depression and hopelessness level. The study investigated which characteristics of men might affect the degree of depression, male depression and hopelessness. 101 infertile couples were recruited from the University of Debrecen, Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and completed the test battery: A demographic questionnaire, Beck Depression scale, Gotland Male Depression Scale, State and Trait Anxiety Inventory, Beck Hopelessness Scale. Results show that women display higher level of depression and anxiety than men. Men's own personal infertility problem is one of the most determining factors of depression, and it corresponds with their age: higher age and a personal infertility problem jointly increase depression level. Male-type depression and men's personal infertility problems determine the appearance of hopelessness together. This study indicates the difference between women's and men's common mental health problems and a close relationship between men's personal infertility problem, age, and psychological problems.
