Megjegyzések:	Understanding the significance of sow back-fat thickness (BFT) during lactation in maintaining optimal sow productivity is crucial. This study aimed to evaluate the relationship between sow parity, BFT pre-farrowing and weaning, and weaning performance of Large White ? Landrace Hypor sows of different parities. Backfat thickness was measured at point P2. A total of 196 sows of different parities (P) 1-7 were investigated. Variables that were analyzed included BFT D109 of gestation (when sows entered farrowing), BFT D28 (at weaning), and the number of piglets weaned (Wn). Data were analyzed using the Kruskal-Wallis H-Test and Post-hoc pairwise comparisons were performed using Dunn's test in R. The results showed that sow parity had a significant effect on BFT D109 and the number of weaned piglets. Pairwise multiple comparisons revealed that P1 sows exhibited a significantly higher BFT D109 than P3 and P4 sows (P < 0.001). Parity 1 sows weaned a higher (p<0.001) number of piglets than parities 4, 5, and 6. Spearman's correlation was not significant between BFT D109 and BFT D28; however, it had a moderate positive coefficient of 0.538. The number of weaned piglets did not have an effect (p=0.293) on backfat at weaning. In conclusion, this study suggests that assessing BFT prior to farrowing and weaning is a helpful tool for guiding sow management and pig production.
