Megjegyzések:Feed supplements can alter the composition and quality of sow milk, which can also have a beneficial effect on piglets. The aim of the study was to test the effect of yeast, arginine, vitamin E and organic selenium supplementation in diets for primiparous lactating sows on piglets' intestinal morphology at 21 days of life. Forty DanBred gilts were split into four groups based on the live weight when moved to the farrowing unit: control (farm feed); yeast supplementation (Levucell SB 10ME Titan, 0.01%); elevated L-arginine (+4.4g/kg); and increased selenium and vitamin E (+0.1 mg/kg organic selenium, +50 mg/kg vitamin E). The gilts were fed from seven days prior to farrowing till weaning (28 days). At the age of 21 days, one piglet per litter was sacrificed and dissected for jejunum morphology analyses. Yeast supplementation in the sows' feed significantly (p<0.05) increased the length and area of the villi and the ratio of villus length:crypt depth compared to the control group. Villus width and crypt depth were significantly (p<0.05) improved by all three dietary treatments compared to controls. In conclusion yeast supplementation of sow lactational feed has the most positive effect on the piglets' jejunum.
