Megjegyzések:The estimation of heat content which was previously applied to a limited number of organic compounds has been extended to metabolites containing a great variety of functional groups, double bonds and aromatic rings. Combustion energies of different types of organic compounds were estimated and compared with observed values. Estimated values are within the range of error of energy measurements with an average deviation of 0.4%. By means of a simple equation the heat content of nutrients and metabolic intermediates can be calculated even if calorimetric values are not available. Estimated values were used to construct energy maps of the aspartate, and urea cycles.
