Awareness of the social and environmental responsibilities of companies has grown rapidly over recent years and non-financial reporting is now recognized as an integral part of any business strategy. Some companies produce fully electronic comprehensive reports of all their global social and environmental impacts. Most reporting companies produce hard-copy (paper) reports and an increasing number are supplementing, and in some cases replacing, these with Web-based versions. Increasingly, companies are issuing their sustainability and related reports in electronic format. The aim of my study is to examine how change the use of the Internet by companies with the object to publish their environmental reports in the last few years world-wide.
