Megjegyzések:	Regions with high level of unemployment and low level of income are in need of investors, who would provide jobs for the unemployed and orders for the enterprises. However, investors prefer developed regions where human resources are equipped with skills tailored to employers' requirements. The paper examines the general communication and language skill demands of employers from both the public and private sectors of the North Great Plain Region in Hungary. Since most students at the Centre of Agricultural Sciences intend to find a job and settle down in Eastern Hungary, a stronger interrelationship between the local economy and higher education could also contribute to improving the development level of the region.
