Megjegyzések:Cold-Gas Dynamic Spray (or simply Cold Spray) is a novel process where a jet stream of small powder particles (1 - 50 ?m) is accelerated to supersonic speeds (300 - 1200 m/s) by a compressed and heated (0-700 oF) gas towards a substrate, and a strong metallurgical bond is formed between the particles and the substrate. This process is based on the selection of the combination of particle temperature, velocity, and size that allows spraying at the lowest temperature possible. In the Cold Spray process, powder particles are accelerated by the supersonic gas jet at a temperature that is always lower than the melting point of the material, resulting in coating formation from particles in the solid state. As a consequence, the deleterious effects of hightemperature oxidation, evaporation, melting, crystallization, residual stresses, gas release, and other common problems for traditional thermal spray methods are minimized or eliminated. However, being a relatively new technique, the bonding mechanism between particles and substrate is not well understood. In this study, the interface between Cu particles that were Cold Sprayed and an Al substrate is investigated, using an Optical Microscope, a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM).
