Dátum:2009
Megjegyzések:Electrical and mechanical heterogeneity within thecardiac muscle has long been recognized not only between theconducing tissues and the myocardium, but also within the workingmuscle itself. Action potential configuration and the underlying ioncurrents with their pore-forming and regulatory channel subunitsare largely different between the atrial and ventricular tissues. Moreover, within the ventricles three types of cells wererecognized and characterized according to their action potentialconfiguration and underlying ion currents and this chapter isentitled to summarize these findings. Endocardial cells located onthe inner surface of the ventricular cavities, trabecular andpapillary muscles. Their action potential does not display spikeand-dome configuration and its duration is usually intermediatebetween action potential duration of the other two cell types. Thesmall or absent transient outward current is thought to beresponsible for the lack of the spike-and-dome configuration.Epicardial action potentials show characteristic spike-and-domeconfiguration with typically the shortest duration among the threecell types. The middle part of ventricular wall contains a uniquecell type named M cells.
