Megjegyzések:INTRODUCTION - The Lilly Hungary Ltd. with the support of the Hungarian National Association of Diabetes had launched a program for prevention of overweight and consequential type 2 diabetes. Within this program prepuberty students from four different schools were measured with motor skills and quality of life. The children had a special website where they could read useful information regarding the healthy lifestyle including nutrition and advantage of the regular physical activity. OBJECTIVE - The aim of our study was to compare the motor performance of children aged 10-12 and the quality of life perception before and after 6 weeks of regular daily physical activity. We examined the association between the motor tests and perception of the quality of life. We were looking for changes in children's eating habits due to the nuitrition advices in the website and from the teachers.METHODA total 93 school children including 44 girls and 49 boys took part in the survey. There mean age was 11,12 ?0,36 years old. Children were measured with the EUROFIT phsycal fitness test at the beginning of September 2010 and after 6 weeks. The quality of life was evaluated using the Pediatric Quality of Life? 4.0 Generic Modul. The children were asked about their physical activity, popular sports and eating habit as well. Data were analyzed using the SPSS 19.0 Statistical Analysis System.RESULTThere were significant improvement in all motor tests except the static arm strengtht in 6 weeks. The quality of life was significantly associated with the standing broad jump (r=0,295; p=0,005), sit up (r=0,290; p=0,006), bent arm hang (r=0,331; p=0,002), 10x5 meter shuttle run (r=-0,309; p=0,003) and the 20 meter shuttle run tests (r=0,357; p=0,001). We found positive change in eating habit as well.CONCLUSIONWe found significant improvement in the children's motor tests in 6 weeks doing regular physical activity. The better physical condition associated with better quality of life perception. Quality of life perception has the strongest and the most significant relationship with the aerobic endurance. It is encouraging that the popular sports among the children like football, swimming, running, cycling, develop the cardio-respiratory endurance. It has been demonstrated that structured physical education and the different sport activities are very important in the students' life. Advices regarding the healthy lifestyle and nutrition resulted favorable change in the children's nutririon habit, too.
