Megjegyzések:	Pro-environmental behavior can appear in several fields in our every dayroutine. Among these behaviors, travel mode decisions play a significant role, thus severalstudies tried to explore the decisions regarding car use (cf. Steg and Vlek, 2009;Gärling and Loukopoulos, 2008). Despite the popularity of this field of research, only afew studies focus on whether pro-environmental campaigns have an effect on travelmode decisions (Thgersen, 2007), and whether people with different kinds of characteristicsdiffer in the willingness to join these pro-environmental campaigns. Socialvalue orientation can be an appropriate framework for these examinations, as prosocialsare more inclined to pay attention to the aspects of the environment in their decisionsthan proself people (Van Vugt, Meertens and Van Lange, 1995; Van Vugt, VanLange and Meertens, 1996). The present study examines the effect of travel mode habitsand excuses explaining non-behavior on travel mode choices, and its relation to socialvalue orientation. Data were collected on an average workday and also on a special day(a pro-environmental campaign-day, namely the European Car Free Day). According tothe results, behavioral habits determine travel mode decisions both on an average dayand in case of the pro-environmental campaign. But, while proselfs' behavioral intentionsare influenced by both the behavioral habits and the number of excuses in the campaign,in case of prosocials only behavioral habits have effect on the behavioral intention.In addition, on an average day prosocials somewhat differentiate in their decisionsby their excuses; while proself people's decisions are guided only by their behavioralhabits.
