Megjegyzések:	In the past decade renewable energy sector has become the fastest growing segment of energy industry. Leading economies of the world support and encourage investments more intensively into the renewable energy sector because of several reasons. It is well known that renewable energies are not yet self-supporting and profitable enough for investor-owned companies, particularly are not for oil and gas companies. However, most of the large oil companies have some renewable energy businesses, even the Supermajors the biggest corporations of the energy sector. In this paper I analyse the reasons of why ExxonMobil, Chevron, Royal Dutch Shell, BP, and Total sustain renewable energy businesses despite not making enough profit for them. According to my findings some Supermajors do not deal with renewable energies, even they can markedly improve their social image. Others have a strong focus on renewable energy business and have a key role as global players in the industry.
