Megjegyzések:Earlier we have already studied the results of a survey on the academic competencies of L2 medical students (DEOEC, University of Debrecen) arriving mostly from non-English speaking countries who studied medical sciences in English in Debrecen. Our present study seeks to explore the academic competencies, learning skills and competencies of the first year students of the Faculty of Agricultural, Food and Environmental Sciences, Debrecen University. The University attempts to establish a network of group-leaders (facilitators) from among its own lecturers who are ready to enhance their theoretical and practical knowledge on learning techniques and learning competence-related skills in the hope of raising the learners' awareness to enhance their academic skills, learning competencies and motivation maintenance strategies.
