Megjegyzések:The management of sewage sludge is facing new challenges in the early21st century. It accounts for an ever-larger proportion of the costs of wastewater treatment.In Hungary, water utilities and land suitable for agricultural recycling have a newstructure of ownership as a result of post-transition privatisation, with fundamental consequencesfor sludge use. A new factor, climate change, may make wastewater irrigation - particularly for energy crops - an important feature of water management in areasglobal warming have rendered arid. As the increasing costs of sludge treatment arepassed on to the customers, service charges are expected to rise, having a potentiallyadverse effect on water use.
