Megjegyzések:In this paper my aim is to highlight the strengths and the weaknesses of a recent theory, called hybrid theory (Tendahl 2009) through the analysis of metaphors of the type X IS A JAIL. By providing sample analyses, my aim is thus to demonstrate, how different metaphors of the type X IS A JAIL can be described in a hybrid theoretical framework. My further aim is to show what possible solutions hybrid theory can provide for problemsof conceptual metaphor theory and relevance theory, both serving as its sources.
