Megjegyzések:	Very few Hungarian studies focus on measuring quality of life and theparameters of its emotional well-being. (Kékesi, 2007.) The recent quality of liferesearch has been conducted by using the Oxford Happiness Questionnaire amongthe population of Nyíregyháza and the nearest settlements to try to compensate thelack of valid measures and studies.This research tries to give a clear picture of happiness values and commonopinions or responses to questions on the items of happiness.Specific features can be seen in the development of happiness values: the olderan age group is, the less the average value of happiness is and the more qualified aperson is, the happier he/she is.Significant differences can be shown between the subjective well-being of thepopulation living in Nyíregyháza and in the nearest settlements regarding the levelsof education, the labour market situation, social capital and the objective culturalcapital.
