Cím:Deaf Identity and Social Exclusion: a Case Study in Western Romania / Emese Belényi
Dátum:2014
Megjegyzések:In Romania the educational and occupational integration policies aimed at Deaf in the past several decades characteristically ignored their identity peculiarities, a fact which became an important causal factor of the low level of educational and professional attainment among Deaf community members. To a large extent, this inheritance and its negative consequences are still with us. Our research conducted among Deaf young people in three cities of Western Romania (Satu-Mare, Oradea and Arad) proposed an inquiry into the different dimensions of what exclusion of Deaf from employment and other social resources means and how it is caused, in order to identify pathways and measures of inclusion.
