Megjegyzések:The main goal of our study is to determine the organic carbon stocks of the croplands in theTiszafüred-Kunhegyes Plain geographical microregion of Hungary. The first step of the calculations was thespatial delimitation of the investigated microregion by means of national GIS data bases creating our own database containing the map coverages needed for the calculation of the carbon stocks. The second step was thedetermination of the cropland areas for each settlement belonging to the microregion. Then the organic carbonstocks of the specific soils of the croplands of the microregion could be calculated by two calculationmethods. We established that the carbon stock calculations based on AGROTOPO data base are moreaccurate characterizing the area better compared to the calculations with the IPCC methodology based ondefault reference data, though this latter method provides sufficient data as well if no other data sources areavailable. The carbon stock values calculated for the settlements of the microregion cannot be consideredhigh, so the application of conservation tillage including soil cultivation without ploughing and higher organicmatter input is suggested.
