Megjegyzések:	Mapping Gidran mare families is a prominently important issue, because these horse breeds possess a special genetic value. Better understanding the genetic structure of traditional Hungarian horse breeds is useful for determining the genetic status of other species. On the other hand, it could also help to elaborate appropriate conservation plans. The fundamental goal of our publication is to determine haplotypes of Gidran horses using mtDNA markers and correlate them with the mare families. 90 Gidran samples were sequenced and processed using different bioinformatics tools. We separated the 90 samples into 20 haplotype. In case of 14 mare families the haplotypes were correlated with the family. On the other hand, we cannot find the exact haplotype of 10 mare families. The haplotype and the mare family were different in eight samples. We can specify our result to increase the sample number, and using additional DNA markers, in addition to reaching the founder number of Gidran mares.
