Megjegyzések:The forkhead proteins are a family of the transcription factors that play important roles in regulatingthe expression of genes, involved in cell growth, cell division, sexual differentiation or in embryonicdevelopment. [1] [2] The forkhead family of proteins contain a highly conserved Fork Head domainthat are widespread in eukaryotes, found throughout yeast and human.To understand the process of regulating of forkhead transcription factors, researchers use modelorganisms, such as Saccharomyces cerevisiae or the fission yeast Schizosaccharomyces pombe.Earlier we started to characterize the Fhl1 forkhead gene of Sch. pombe. It revealed that deletion ofthis gene lead to slow cell growth, delayed G2-to-M transition and modify the response ofenvironmental stresses[1]. Our aim was to carry on these experiments and gain more informationabout function of the Sch. pombe Fhl1 gene. A microarray analysis of the Fhl1 deleted strain wascarried out. Our results suggest that Fhl1 gene display a remarkable function in meiosis as regulatesthe ste11 gene. It also influences the transport mechanisms and kinases. Its target genes can befound at all chromosomes. Both down- and up regulated genes appeared among its targets.
