Megjegyzések:Strong efforts are expended to use fluid inclusions of speleothems in past climate research.Beyond investigations of stable isotope composition of fluid inclusion water of drip stones, noble gas concentrations dissolved in fluid inclusions are expected to be a possible archive of past cave temperatures. This paper summarizes recent results obtained in different leader noble gas laboratories including the research group of the authors. Having measured numerous speleothem samples this new method seems to be promising. Our first measurements enabled us to determine noble gas temperatures for a soda straw sample from Meteor Cave, Hungary. We obttained 12.412.4?1.5 ?C and 8.7?1.5 ?C, while the mean annual cavetemperature is around 10.4?C.
