Megjegyzések:There are governmental initiatives to improve the quality and safety of health care in Hungary (Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Strategy) [MIBES]. This includes an action plan for the accreditation of healthcare providers for the security of patient care [BELLA] (in- and outpatient care and pharmacies), recommendations for actions to be taken following serious adverse events [NEKED]. Hungary also takes part in the PaSQ Joint Action (European Union Network for Patient Safety and Quality of Care). There is an e-learning training programme for patient safety coordinators. Improving quality of care and patient safety are important issues in the development of primary care in Hungary. The principles of the patients' safe treatment are regulated by the law (minimum requirements of providing health care services, rules of prescribing medications etc.). There is also a financial incentive programme to help with the settlement of GPs in the vacant practices. The indicator based quality evaluation of GPs might also improve patient safety. A complex national eHealth system, which connects the GPs with the different levels of the health care system is also under development. This system can help the GPs to get all the patient data needed for everyday care. The development of new guidelines, standards and the GPs' continuous education and training contain elements which also improve patient safety in primary care.
