Cím:Changes in cyclic hydroxamic acid content of maize caused by salt stress / Makleit Péter
Dátum:2006
Megjegyzések:Cyclic hydroxamic acids (cHx-s) are secondary metabolites of graminaceous species. Those are considered stress metabolites. The changes in cHx-content of maize were examined. The plants grown on nutrient solution were treated with 100 mM NaCl at the age of 11 days. The cHx-content of shoots and roots after 1, 2, 4, 8, 24 and 48 hours of the treatment, and dry weight of plants was measured at the age of 11, 12 and 13 days. The salt treatment decreased the level of growth of all examined cultivars. The cHx-content was lower than of the level of the control (untreated plants) 1 hour after the treatment. 2 hours after the treatment those became higher than of the level of the control and reached their maximum after 8 hours in the roots and 24 hours in the shoots. After the maximum, significant decrease of the cHx-content was observed in the whole plant till the end of the experiment.
