Cím:TRP Channels in Itch and Pain / Tóth István Balázs, Szöllősi Attila Gábor, Bíró Tamás
Dátum:2020
Megjegyzések:Transient receptor potential (TRP) ion channels form a heterogeneous group in the superfamily of voltage gated ion channels. They are nonspecific cationic channels sharing the common features of six transmembrane segments and varying degrees of sequence homology. The majority of them are localized in the plasma membrane where they function as Ca2+ entry channels. In mammals, TRP channels are dived into 6 subfamilies encompassing 28 (27 in human) members. They are sensitive to various changes in the physicochemical environment of the expressing cells, where they serve as cellular sensors. A distinguished feature of TRP channels is their multimodality: they can be activated by mechanical forces, osmotic stress, alterations in the environmental pH, as well as a varied host of endogenous and exogenous ligands. Moreover, they can interact with several intracellular molecules including membrane phospholipids, proteins, and other signaling molecules which connect versatile regulatory mechanisms to TRP channels. Although various TRP channels are widely expressed in the body, they play a featured role in sensory functions, especially in the somatosensory system. From this point of view, especially the thermosensitive members expressed at the periphery are of special importance; therefore they are considered as "sensory" TRP channels. Among these are members of the vanilloid (TRPV1, TRPV2, TRPV3, TRPV4), and the melastatin (TRPM2, TRPM3, TRPM8) subfamily as well as TRPA1, the sole member of the ankirin subfamily.
