Megjegyzések:One of the dominant and less known geological formations in the northern foreland of the Bükk Mts. is the Late Miocene Dubicsány Andesite Formation (DAF), which is built up by intermediate pyroclastic rocks and dykes. Detailed volcanologicalpetrographical investigations were performed on the exposures of DAF near Sajóbábony. On the basis of our volcanological and textural analysis the Late Miocene andesitic pyroclastic rocks are non-bedded, or slightly bedded, poorly sorted, coarse-grained, lithic-rich, eroded volcaniclastic rocks, which are deposited in terrestrial environment. Their textural and structural character suggests that they would have been debris-flows or mass-flows with high particle density. The groundwater derived from the coarse-grained aquifers of the shallow prevolcanic basement played an important role in the fragmentation of the magma, while the thick, cohesive, swelling Badenian ? Early Sarmatian clay deposits of the shallow basement could have blocked the ascending magma and the explosion was delayed and throttled down for a while. As a result of the subsurface phreatomagmatic explosion saturated and lithic-rich ?slurry" was deposited with high particle concentration. Andesitic volcaniclastic rocks with same textural and structural character can be found in the entire territory of the Tardona Hills, from Miskolc to Putnok.
