Megjegyzések:Considerations for the Establishment of the Chronological Layers of the Founding Charter of the Bakonybél Abbey The paper focuses on the historical-linguistic analysis of four toponyms in the forged Founding Charter of the Bakonybél Abbey dated 1037, which is a charter of an uncertain chronological status in a linguistic sense. The founding charter includes 34 toponyms. The 11 toponyms that do not appear in the Bakonybél Census (1086) used as a source for the forged charter were probably not included in the authentic 11th-century Bakonybél charter either. The four oronyms analyzed here (Hygeskw, Kertuskw, Feerkw, Oduoskw) also belong to this group. Besides the absence of the names from the census, several other circumstances also indicate that the donations mentioned in connection with the oronyms cannot derive from the beginning of the 11th century. At the same time, the 11th-century boundary description of Bakonykoppány settlement close to the Triassic and Jurassic mountains recorded in the forged founding charter survived, which undoubtedly proves the presence of Hungarians in the area in the 11th century; thus even in the absence of data, it may be supposed about the four oronyms that the names found in records since the 13th century (the time of forging the charter) to this day, had already existed in the 11th century. In the second part of the paper, I explored the phonological and orthographic characteristics of names with a supposedly 11th-century source value in historical toponomastics. In view of the results, I could also provide a linguistic approach to the issue whether the four oronyms could be included in the authentic founding charter. The kő ♭stone' orographic common noun as the second constituent of names facilitated the establishment of the chronological features of the name forms, as the letter w appearing in the second constituent as the sign of the sound ő/ű has a well definable chronological framework. I conducted my studies in this regard first for the kő ♭stone' lexeme, followed by a wider focus. As a result of investigations, I concluded that the w notation appears for the first time in the second half of the 13th century and the frequency of the notation reaches its peak in the 30s of the 14th century. The form of the kő lexeme appearing in the Bakonybél founding charter (kw) therefore indicates that these data, in terms of their historical-linguistic features, probably belong to the 13th- and 14th-century chronological layers of the forged charter. Thus the historical-linguistic analysis of the four oronyms in the Founding Charter of Bakonybél confirmed that these names were probably not included in the oroginal 11th-century charter.
