Megjegyzések:	Food and feed safety become one of the central problems as the toxin limits have been settled for the cereals. In the past 37 years, extensive research was performed on the Fusarium resistance of wheat and corn. Both crops have a rather large variation, which can be utilized during the breeding process. Flowever, in wheat many research laboratories and breeders work, in maize only several breeding groups made significant contributions to make solutions. In the present study the conclusion is that, the toxin bearing kernels are with several exceptions visually infected and the toxin contamination correlates well with the severity of symptoms. For wheat, the FDK is more precise than the often-tested FFIB values. In wheat, breeding of highly resistant wheat lines is more or less solved. Much more problematic is to combine FFIB resistance with resistance to other major disease, yielding ability and quality. In corn the case will be similar, to combine high FER resistance with excellent combining ability. In both crops, research has proved that solution is possible; however, several years should pass until the superior materials will appear on commercial fields. This process to enhance the variety offices should test the cultivar candidates for FHB and FER resistance and discard the susceptible ones from the registration.
