Megjegyzések:	The re-evaluation of the potential use of source materials in historical dialectology, thus primarily that of linguistic records, has become an especially urgent matter. Recently numerous issues have come to the centre of attention in historical dialectology concerning early charters which also have a major influence on the findings of dialectology. In this paper I discuss the value of linguistic records, especially charters, as sources of historical dialectology, as related attributes (including the level of contingency in the survival of charters, the standards in the practice of charter writing, the differing chronological uses of data from various types of charters, etc.) may provide us the opportunity to draw significant theoretical and methodological conclusions concerning studies in historical dialectology.
