Cím:The Relations of King Emeric and King Andrew II of Hungary with the Balkan states / Attila Bárány
Dátum:2020
Megjegyzések:The paper investigates the relations of king Emeric (1196?1204) andAndrew II (1205?1235) with the Balkans. Many works examine Andrew`s politics onlythrough the ambition to acquire the Latin imperial title. There is no evidence that hemarried a Latin princess or went on a crusade just because he wanted to ascend thethrone. He still undertook to defend the Latin positions, for which he built an alliancesystem through marriages with Nicaea, Thessalonica and Bulgaria to hold up a balance. He sought to prevent the Asenids or Epirus taking a share of Byzantine lands. He reachedan agreement between Stefan the First Crowned and Constantinople. It also shows the changes in the possession of Belgrade and Brani?cevo, dating campaigns to Vidin in 1210/11 and 1228, also exploring the Cumans' role in Asenid armies
